Ballarat Courier Office (Former - Physical Description 1
The Ballarat Courier was established in 1867 and has been published uninterrupted since then. The paper has occupied these offices since the turn of the century.
In 1947 the fac3.de "as remodelled by H.L.Coburn. The "Art Deco" treatment of the parapet is a very late use of the style. The facade treatment generally is. more modern Georgian, with its use of tapestry bricks and the simple arched ground floor windows with arched glazing bars and linked hood moulds reflection< these arches.
Although this is a refacing of a building which was identical to those flanking it, it does not unduly detract from the streetscape as it has retained, a similar parapet line and fenestration.
