Heritage Inventory History of Site: The bridge dates from 1867 and forms an early crossing point of the Plenty River.Heritage Inventory Description
OLD LOWER PLENTY ROAD 1, BRIDGE - Heritage Inventory Description
Ruins of bridge constructed with iron trusses, bluestone abutments, and timber beneath bitumen road surface. Tar and bitumen were not widely used until the 1920s, therefore the bridge has had some modifications during its lifetime.
