Statement of Significance
The single storey stone residence, formerly the Lighthouse Keepers Quarters was erected adjacent to the Lighthouse near the site of the present Battery, South Portland in the 1850's and was moved to its present site in 1889 - 90. The building is an intact and typical example of buildings of its type erected by the Public Works Department in Victoria.
