PRESTON HILL LEAD MINES - Heritage Inventory Description
The maps show that the mines were concentrated at the north and south of this area where there are only a few remains still extant. These remains consist of mounds of mullock and quartz wash, all of which are either very disturbed or are infested with gorse. Four or five of these mounds are small mullock heaps approximately 5m in diameter with a filled shaft in the centre or alternatively with a mullock heap 15 to 20m long and approximately 1m high. The four sites which appear to have been larger mines are very disturbed, most of the wash and mullock has been removed from these larger mines.
