    Ballarat RAAF Base - Veterans Description for Public

    The Ballarat RAAF Base, on Learmonth Road, was established during the Second World War. In 1940, the base became home to the No 1 Wireless Air Gunners School. After the Second World War, the RAAF School of Radio also used the site until 1961, when the base facilities were moved to Laverton, Victoria.
