The memorial is a grey granite obelisk faced with a red granite slab on the north face.
There are flagpoles on the west and east sides.

Kerang Cenotaph - Veterans Description for Public
The Kerang Cenotaph Memorial, located in Atkinson Memorial Park on Wellington and Nolan Streets, is a grey granite obelisk faced with a red granite slab on the north face. There are flagpoles on the west and east sides. The North face of the monument reads:
"In Memory Of Those
"Australia Remembers 1945 - 1995
Who Paid The Supreme Sacrifice
Lest We Forget
Erected April 1981."
The bronze plaque at the base of the monument was added for the 50th Anniversary of the Second World War:
The Children Of Kerang And District
Remember With Gratitude Those People
Who Proudly Served At Home And Abroad
To Defend Australia During
World War II"
As part of the 50th anniversary a time capsule was buried near the monument on 15th August 1995 "To Be Opened On 15-08-2045, 100 Years After The Ending Of World War II."
