Caramut Memorial Hall - Physical Description 1
This small timber building is located at the corner of Brown and Gibson Streets. The building has a hipped corrugated iron roof. It appears to be only one or two rooms. There is a flagpole at the site.
COMPARATIVE ANALYSIS
While specifically built as an RSL hall, this building can be included as one of an important group of soldiers' memorial halls. Other examples of purpose-built soldiers' memorial halls in Moyne Shire are at The Sisters, Orford and Minhamite; the hall at Mortlake was formerly the temperance hall. For a town of this small size to have an RSL hall suggests a strong group of local ex-service personnel.Veterans Description for Public
