      THE REMAINS REPORTED IN THIS LOCATION MAY HAVE SOMETHING TO DO WITH RALEIGH'S CASTLE, HOWEVER THE HISTORICAL MAPS WHEN OVERLAIN WITH THE MODERN MAP PLACE RALEIGH'S CASTLE ADJACENT TO THIS SITE.

      Gary Vines recalls observing a bluestone cistern in this location during the location of the present house. Possibly there are remains of this feature and other remnants in the area.
