FORMER RANKIN FARMHOUSE COMPLEX - History
1836 - part of Redstone Hill Pastoral Run. 1854-1855 - Subdivided in Section 26, Lots 1 & 2. Lot 1 - Farm established by John Rankin. 1868 - Transfer to Martin Bailey & descendants. 1929 - Transfer to Wilfred Henry Johnston & descendants. Lot 2 - Crown grant to Michael Loeman. 1901 - Transfer to Wilfed Henry Johnston. 1961/3 - Both titles purchased by current owners.

A pastoral / mixed agricultural property (mid 1850's), reflecting elements of its use and development from its origins to the decline of mixed farming in the region into the 20th Century.

A 19th / 20th Century rural landscape, comprising a multiplicity of features of varying significance distributed across both allotments.
A. Former Rankin Farmhouse complex. B. Pastoral enclosure complex. C. Outlying landscape elements (drystone field boundaries, fence fragments, windbreaks etc). *Note: of low signigicance only. D. Outlying dams. E. Ben Eadre Mill site (not included in this listing - outside study area.
Physical Conditions: Poor - good. Varies.
