Kerrie WWI Memorial Trees - Veterans Description for Public
In 1920, memorial trees were planted outside the the former Kerrie Primary School No. 1290 on the Bolinda-Cherokee Road. The trees, comprising of Red Cedar and Douglas Fir trees, were planted for every local serviceman who fought during the First World War. The memorial is an unusual example of commemorative trees planted as a copse, instead of the traditional avenue of honour.
