    SUN HILL T18 - History

    The Sun Hill mine and adjacent T18 tramway were associated with the Rising Sun, later Sun Gold Mining Co. in the vicinity of Black Diamond. The mined area has several holes and the tramway originally linked the company's mine near the Aberfeldy/Thomson river junction with Longfellows Battery, possibly using the unusual "Hoffman Rail System" (see Jenkins appendix D). The T18 tramway was a horse-drawn wooden-rail tramway servicing the Long Tunnel Extended mine.
