Memorial Window Description & History
Stained Glass Window at Hampton Holy Trinity Anglican Church - Memorial Window Description & History
The Argus reported the unveiling of a window to the memory of the parish's servicemen at a Remembrance Day serviceat 11 am on 6 November 1949. The window was the gift of the League of Soldiers' Friends and was dedicated by Archdeacon Hancock. The three-light window was designed and made by Mathieson & Gibson and can be considered among the firm's most resolved compositions. The design featured the figure of Christ framed by a radiance with the empty tomb as a neutral background to the scene with angels at either side.
