Statement of Significance

Sunnyside has cultural and historical significance in relation to its association with former owner John G Roberts and his family in the early twentieth century. The Roberts family were notable for their encouragement, friendship and support of notable Australian artists. Sunnyside is probably best associated with the 'The Songs of the Sentimental Bloke" by C.J Dennis that was written on the property and dedicated to the Roberts family.
