Statement of Significance

This house was designed by architect Leslie M. Perrot. It is depicted and described in The Australian Home Beautiful, Nov. 12, 1925, page 24, as follows:

'Reinforced Concrete Residence at Wattle Valley Rd East Camberwell for Mr. C.J. Thomas'

'This design shows the extent to which reinforced concrete can be adapted to residential construction. The internal walls being built of 3in. thick reinforced concrete adds a great saving in space, as the accompanying plan will show. The external finish is of cement stucco coloured white. Woodwork, generally, is of dark green, making a good contrast with the white walls.'
