ST BRENDAN'S ROMAN CATHOLIC CHURCH - Physical Description 1
In the modern Italian Romanesque manner of the Middle Park Church, Our Lady of Mt. Carmel, this church is more confined by its site and has none of the other's extensive trancepts. Otherwise, the tall red brick gable form with its candle snuffer turretts and multi-arched pedimented Romanesque entry, is similar. The asymmetrical placement of the square tower provides a variation to Fritsch's other work, despite the unfortunate addition at its base.
Generally original externally except for an addition at the base of the tower and possible removal of the front fence.
Relates to the adjoining school and opposing police station, court house complex also part of the notable Wellington Street streetscape and precinctand the object of distant views to the hill.
