There is very little archaeological significance at this site.

ONE EYE GULLY - History
Gold was first discovered at One Eye Gully along the Canadian Creek (broadly known as Canadian Gully) in the early 1850's and by 1855 a deep lead along the eastern boundary of the study area was being worked (Withers 1980: 198). Subsequently, the area was utilised for small scale farming.ONE EYE GULLY - Interpretation of Site
Alluvial and deep lead mining landscape.
Heritage Inventory Description
ONE EYE GULLY - Heritage Inventory Description
Grazed paddock intersected by Canadian Creek. The area is approximately 6 ha with gorse and blackberry infestation, and some isolated mature gum trees. The area is encompassed by an 1850-70 alluvial goldfield of which very faint traces are evident for e.g. mullock, depressions, race and mine.
Feature 1 is a water race. It is visible as a very faint depression, corresponding to its location as marked on historical maps. The full extent of the race is not visible. Feature 2 is a piece of farm machinery of unknown date and function. Feature 3 consists of a possible domestic site bordered by a line of mature pine trees. Although no artefacts were found to confirm this the flat aspect of the area and the line of planted trees is suggestive. This area has been disturbed by sewerage installation. Feature 4 is a rectangular depression (5.8 x 2.5m) filled with water. The absence of dam spoil, rectangular shape and unlikely dam location (directly on a property boundary) suggest this is a mine associated with deep lead mining.
