    21 COMMON ROAD INVERLEIGH - History

    Inverleigh is one of the major townships around the Geelong area where historically land was settled initially by squatters and then farmers on smaller holdings. There are presently a number of registered historical sites around Inverleigh.

    The site may be one of the earliest houses in the Inverleigh area.

    21 COMMON ROAD INVERLEIGH - Heritage Inventory Description

    The site comprises of an open grass paddock lined along the south with native trees. There is the remains of a house nestled in the trees. Features include a well preserved wall/facade with foundation remains.

    A bluestone wall that may be part of a facade of a house. A row of bluestone slabs around the wall indicate afoundational structure. Terracotta bricks also feature within a lower demolished outer wall. There is an exposed doorway within a wooden frame.
