The house site may possibly be one of the earliest houses in the Inverleigh area and therefore has archaeological potential to provide further investigations into historic activities of the area.

Inverleigh is one of the major townships around the Geelong area where historically land was settled initially by squatters and then farmers on smaller holdings. There are presently a number of registered historical sites around Inverleigh.21 COMMON ROAD INVERLEIGH - Interpretation of Site

21 COMMON ROAD INVERLEIGH - Heritage Inventory Description
The site comprises of an open grass paddock lined along the south with native trees. There is the remains of a house nestled in the trees. Features include a well preserved wall/facade with foundation remains.
A bluestone wall that may be part of a facade of a house. A row of bluestone slabs around the wall indicate afoundational structure. Terracotta bricks also feature within a lower demolished outer wall. There is an exposed doorway within a wooden frame.
