Statement of Significance
An important site during the 1930's mining revival period, which defined the northernmost workings along the Deborah line of reef and which is now the only place on Bendigo where it is possible to see mining plant, equipment and machinery at work on a site, both above and below ground. The poppet head is visible from Chum Hill, from the Deborah site, and from many other parts of central Bendigo.
