What is significant?
The c1910 house and the surrounding site to the title boundaries.
How is it significant?
The house is historically and aesthetically significant to the Shire of Nillumbik.
Why is it significant?
The house is historically significant because it was constructed during (or just prior to) a period of growth brought about by the extension of the railway to Hurstbridge and is a reminder of the change that this brought to the town (Criterion A). The house is aesthetically significant because it is an integral component of a cluster of c1910 and 1920s houses that give the centre of Hurstbridge its special character (Criterion E).
