    MT PLEASANT HOMESTEAD, KITTSON ROAD, CAPE BRIDGEWATER - History

    Built by James Kittson in the 1860s after second stone house (H7121-0036) was destroyed. The other house was constructed in the twentieth century.

    Limestone house, possible well and road cutting west of house.

    The house is still extant however the area around and under has potential to contain cultural deposits.

    Of historical value as it relates to one of Portland's eaerly families that settled in the area in the mid 19th century.

    Two houses side-by-side. East house is original limestone, iron-roofed house.The second house was built in the 20th century. West of house is a cutting through rock where one of the roads to the house went. There is also a well with a domed cover. The site is currently occupied.
