What is significant?
The c1925 Uniting church with its c1949 vestry, and the Edwardian hall (originally located in Greensborough and moved to Plenty in 1965 and then to this site in 1985).
How is it significant?
The church is socially, spiritually and historically significant to the Shire of Nillumbik.
The Edwardian hall is historically significant to the Shire of Nillumbik
Why is it significant?
The church is historically significant because its construction illustrates the growth of Hurstbridge following the arrival of the railway in 1912, when it was still a rural hamlet (Criterion A). It is socially and spiritually significant because it has served the community over a long period of time (Criterion G).
The Edwardian hall is historically significant because it illustrates the common practice of relocating timber buildings upon the basis of need and because its relocation shows how much the population of Hurstbridge and the surrounding districts has grown since the 1970s (Criterion A).

Walls timber stud construction, weatherboard clad.
Roofs gabled with eaves, corrugated iron clad.
Features are the front porch (disused), pointed head windows, simple typical form of both church and hall and the hall's projecting front window.The Monterey Cypress trees have a maximum trunk diameter of 300mm and may have been part of a longer line of trees forming a hedge or windbreak.
