Wright House - Physical Description 1
This house, like the others, was also set on two, levels but its later construction meant a more rectilinear design, with exposed Oregon beams and bagged and painted surfaces evoking that other EItham image inspired by the mud brick era. However like the Nichol house it stilI had a mezzanine treatment of space, allowing one level to flow into the other and create one and twostorey high spaces. Similarly the planning was more allocation of volumes within the house perimeter walls with no rigid wall lines or passages. The kitchen was central to the main level, allowing communication to a living area on one side, dining and studio on another and a bedroom and service areas on the remaining sides. There were guest rooms on the lower level with a connected living area. Each level had a terrace attached.
