Statement of Significance
Albion, built in 1883 for George Sim to the design of William Ellingworth, is architecturally and historically significant at a local level.
Architecturally Albion is significant as an imposing single storeyed late Victorian villa in the municipality, enhanced by a spacious landscaped setting and associations with other villas on Albion Road built following Sim's subdivision.
Historicaly, Albion is significant for its associations with George Sim, a prominent early Box Hill settler who also undertook one of the area's earliest land subdivisions associated with the opening of the railway through Box Hill in 1882.
