Statement of Significance
A typical 19th century working-man's hotel notable as one of the few remaining Melbourne buildings constructed of bluestone with sandstone dressings.
The building was completed in 1854 and extended in the 1870's.
The Grace Darling Hotel is also noteworthy as hosting the founding meeting of the Collingwood Football Club in 1992.
The stonework, regrettably, is now painted and many changes have left only traces of the original interior.
