Statement of Significance
The Myrtleford Civic Centre, built in 1966-67 to the design of Lines, MacFarlane and Marshall is of Local significance. The Civic Centre was the administrative centre of the Myrtleford Shire from 1967 until its amalgamation into the Alpine Shire in 1994. The Myrtleford Civic Centre is evidence of the development of the municipality and a landmark of importance to the local community. Architecturally, the Civic Centre is a good example of 1960s Australian modernism with its emphasis on texture and natural materials.
