Statement of Significance
Dr R D Pinnock was probably the first owner of this two-storey rendered brick residence which was built in 1877. The design of this building is most unusual with its narrow ground floor front verandah in a Roman doric colonnade supporting the upper storey.
There is a bay window on one side of the central entrance door and an arched carriageway entrance on the other side. The cast iron railing to the ground floor verandah matches the design of the ironwork on the projecting balconettes to the three first floor windows.
Built next to the fire station and along with the adjacent houses, number 704 forms an important part of the streetscape.
Classified: 14/10/1982
