Statement of Significance

The construction of the substantial, bluestone School building commenced in 1874 and it has been used as a school ever since. The symmetrically arranged complex features projecting gabled end wings, twin porches and a gabled, roofed central bay. The building combines both Classical Revival and Gothic Revival elements to form an interesting and picturesque composition. The building has been unsympathetically altered with the recladding of the roof in tiles, later windows and other alterations.
