Contribution to the landscape
Outstanding size
An outstanding specimen and the largest cultivated example known in Victoria. The tree exhibits its usual upright form, blue-green foliage and fibrous bark. A double leader has developed towards the top of the tree. Another specimen north of this tree measures 3.22m circumference; 20.7m height and 14.5m spread. The planting is part of the extensive parkland surrounding the 1858 homestead.
'Bontharambo' is of historical significance as a property established during the early period of European settlement of the Port Phillip District,and the early phase of pastoral development of the colony
This tree is located in parkland on the far eastern side beside the drive.
