Statement of Significance
Contribution to landscape
This street planting of 17 trees is located between Anderson Street and Gully Creek.
It is an avenue of mixed conifers, including Cedrus deodara (x9), Araucaria bidwillii (x6), and Pinus nigra var. maritima (x2). This planting is one of the few examples of conifers used for street planting in Victoria. Conifers were popularly recommended during the 1860s-1870s but fell out of favour as street plantings in the late 1800s and were replaced by deciduous trees.
