SAWPIT GULLY ALLUVIAL WORKINGS 2 - History
Heritage Inventory History of Site: It is not known when this site was worked. It predates the construction of the Coliban Channel, which cuts the site. The Channel was built in the 1870s. The workings may be associated with the construction of the railway, circa 1862, as the earth works could be interpreted as being designed to divert the creek away from the railway.
