Statement of Significance
The Doctor's Hill Monument, Glenvale Road, Deep Lead, is situated in a rural setting. The Monument has significance as a commemoration to the establishment and erection in 1859 of the first Pleasant Creek Hospital, which served the needs of the gold miners and the rural community of western Victoria. The Monument was erected for the Stawell Rotary Club in 1972 by Morris M. Robson.
The Doctor's Hill Monument is historically and socially significant at a LOCAL level. It is associated with the first hospital constructed in the district in 1859 for the gold miners and community of western Victoria, and was designed and erected by Morris M. Robson for the Stawell Rotary Club in 1972. It is also recognised and valued by the local community for commemorative reasons associated with the hospital.
Overall, the Doctor's Hill Monument is of LOCAL significance.

The Doctor's Hill Monument is situated in a rural setting. It consists of a large, roughly cut stone on a quarry-faced masonry block base. On the south side of the large stone is a metal plaque.
