BOOMAGONG RAILWAY SIDING - History
Heritage Inventory History of Site: The siding was constructed to allow for the shunting of troop trains during WWII. Jim Bennie states there was a hut occupied by a points man near the Boomagong track crossing, although Bossence maintains it was unmanned.
BOOMAGONG RAILWAY SIDING - Interpretation of Site
Heritage Inventory Interpretation: The siding was used briefly during Second World War to allow for the shunting of troop trains and was abandoned soon after the war.

BOOMAGONG RAILWAY SIDING - Heritage Inventory Description
Railway siding
Heritage Inventory Significance: Low local. While it forms a small part of the temporary changes that the second world war brought about, is in a very poor state of preservation.
Heritage Inventory Site Features: Runs for approximately 300 metres on east side of railway. Remains as a ridge, with white quarts 'ballast' rocks. A mound, approximately 5 metres wide, extends for approximately 300 metres between the sheepwash Creek Bridge and the crossing with a dirt road that leads to 'Boomagong' station
