HAPPY-GO-LUCKY QUARTZ MINE - Interpretation of Site
Heritage Inventory Interpretation: Possibly these are the remains of the Happy-Go-Lucky Quartz Mine mentioned in NRE (1996) report as several hectares of workings, including mullock heaps & filled shafts. Three reefs (O'Neill's, Middle & Eastern) lay close together & were worked successfully from 1870 to 20th century (p11)

Extensive workings consisting of pits, shafts and mullock heaps
Heritage Inventory Significance: NRE (1996) report assessed site as being of local importance as evocative of the field.

Heritage Inventory Site Features: Site only summarily recorded. Noted during survey of adjacent gas pipeline easement. consists of several small pits and mullock heaps noted to south of easement as well as at least 1 deeper (fenced off) shaft. Heavily disturbed area also to north of easement. Larger mullock heaps, pits & shafts both north & south of easement/track a couple of hundred metres further to west.
