Alpha Company: location given as east of the Try Again claim and north of the Grand Trunk:
03/1864: not yet into deep ground (Reference: Mining Surveyors and Registrars Reports, Smythsdale Division, in P.Miller, TR 86/4, p.728)
06/1864: struck the deep ground, some of which may be capable of yielding 20 ozs per machine (Reference: Mining Surveyors and Registrars Reports, Smythsdale Division, in P.Miller, TR 86/4, p.729. Robertson 1927 p6)
09/1864: obtains returns of about 60ozs per week, being a small company it produces a good profit (Reference: Mining Surveyors and Registrars Reports, Smythsdale Division, in P.Miller, TR 86/4, p.732)
12/1864: struck excellent ground and obtaining 13ozs per machine (Reference: Mining Surveyors and Registrars Reports, Smythsdale Division, in P.Miller, TR 86/4, p.734)
03/1865: one of the principal mines at Springdallah (Reference: Mining Surveyors and Registrars Reports, Smythsdale Division, in P.Miller, TR 86/4, p.738)

06/1870: Grank Trunk, Golden Lane and Golden Horn companies have been flooded out; in addition to their own excellent pumping machinery the Golden Lake and Golden Horn Companies have erected powerful pumping machinery at the abandoned shaft of Alpha Co. ALPHA CO - Heritage Inventory Description
This site is now the carpark at the end of the road which runs into Devils Kitchen. It is completely flattened and not recognisable as a mine site.
