DEEP LEAD MINES TRIUMPH LEAD - Heritage Inventory Description
At site 86.01 the features are in poor condition. It is a small site and it has deteriorated through the effects of grazing. The shaft has been filled, there are to small fingers of mullock 5-10long which run off the east side of the shaft. They are 5m wide and 1.5m high. There is a flat circular mound west of the shaft which looks remotely like a whim platform./nAt site 86.02 the mullock heap is located north of the shaft. The heap, which is relatively intact, is 45m by 20m by up to 4m high. A scatter of quartz wash 12m by 10m is located east of the shaft site, and there are two small dams each 6m by 5m south of the shaft. There is also a vague circular formation on the south west side of the shaft, which might have been a whim platform. The site is disturbed and there is not much quartz wash remaining./nSite 86.03 is surrounded by a plantation of pine trees. The mullock is the only substantially intact feature at this site. It is 15m in diameter and up to 4m high. The slight depression where the shaft used to be is south of the heap, and there is a cluster of rocks south west of the shaft which may have been from a machinery setting./nThe site has been significantly altered.
