The Mines Department Mining Lease Record Plan No. 212 shows this site and several others in this area at the southern end of the Snake Valley within an expired Lease No. 7146 and Tailings Licence No. 569 which cover an area of 40 acre 2 roods 25 perches. The name of the lessee is the Eureka Alluvial and Cyanide Works.Heritage Inventory Description
UNKNOWN, POSSIBLE THE EUREKA ALLUVIAL AND CYANIDE WORKS - Heritage Inventory Description
There are two sites centred on the above coordinates which are scattered with quartz gravel and mullock. This material is all jumbled up and has been thoroughly disturbed and may be the remains from a removal operation. These sites cover areas 30x20m and 100x100 m respectively. It is not clear whether these sites are the remains from mining or some other activity.
