DEEP LEAD MINE - Heritage Inventory Description
Site 27.03: The main feature at this site is a small mullock 15m by 10m by 2m high. The mullock heap is orientated east-west. There is a hole 6m in diameter on the southern side of the mullock heap. It contains water and presumably is a shaft.Seven metressouth of this hole is a stone and earth structure. It has two well defined walls, is 8m long by 2.9m wide, and appears to be a boiler setting. The outside of the east wall of this structure contains a section that is 0.5m high and contains basalt stones set in a mud mortar. The west wall of the structure is not as well defined. The stone and earth heap at the northern end of the structure may have been the chimney.
