The memorial wall at the entrance to the South Barwon Reserve at 137 Barwon Heads Road is historically and socially significant at a LOCAL level. It is associated with an important figure from the Belmont community, Michael Duff, and is also recognised and highly valued by the community as a memorial to those who fought in the Second World War.
Overall, the memorial wall at the entrance to the South Barwon Reserve at 137 Barwon Heads Road is of LOCAL significance.

South Barwon Reserve Memorial Wall - Physical Description 1
DESCRIPTION
The curved memorial wall at the entrance into the South Barwon Reserve at 137 Barwon Heads Road is constructed of coursed concrete blocks with a capping along the top. A rectangular opening penetrates the walls. The three memorials on the wall read:
"In Memory of Michael H. Duff For Services Rendered 1926-1958"
"Let Us Not Forget the Services of Belmont Men and Women in World War Two 1939-1945"
"Original Gates Erected 1947"

The South Barwon Reserve Memorial, at 137 Barwon Heads Road, consists of a curved wall at the entrance into the South Barwon Reserve. It is constructed of coursed concrete blocks with a capping along the top. A rectangular opening penetrates the walls. The three memorials on the wall read:

This wall was erected c.1970 in memory of Michael Duff and those that fought in the Second World War.
