The Linton Avenue of Honour was planted in 1918 and is on Denison Street. It originally consisted of 100 alternating oaks and elms. Its purpose was to 'commemorate Linton's contribution to the Australian Imperial Forces'. At some stage all of the elm trees and the name plaques were removed. The latter have never been recovered. The avenue now comprises comprises 44 trees. On Anzac Day 2009, the Linton and District Historical Society erected a memorial to commemorate the ninetieth anniversary of its planting in July of 2008.
