The Pyramid Hill Obelisk was erected to commemorate the Boer War. It specifically dedicated to Pt. H.J. Hiscook who died May 19th 1900. The plaque acknowledges that the monument is "The Tribute of the Officers of the Victorian Mounted Rifles, Non-Commissoned Officers and Men."
