    Mysia War Memorial School - Veterans Description for Public

    The Mysia War Memorial School was built in 1921 to commemorate the First World War. There is an archway over the gate incorporating a flagpole. The South face of archway reads "1914 1918 War Memorial School." The North face of archway "1914 1918 Lest We Forget." There is also a marble tablet on south wall of building, the inscription of which reads:

    "A Monument Of Gratitude
    Erected By The Residents Of The District
    In Grateful Memory Of All Mysia Men
    Who Volunteered To Fight For God, For King,
    For Country In The Great War 1914 - 1919
    And A Lasting Memorial

    Of Those Whose Names Are Here Inscribed
    Who Foremost Fighting - Fell."
    
    After the Second World War a further tablet was laid, with an additional list of district service men:
    
    "This Stone Was Laid By Mrs Thos Chalmers Senr
    World War II 1939 - 1945
    In Honoured Glory, We Remember Them."

    The building is now used as a community hall. It was restored in 1999 with the assistance of the Victorian Government's Partnerships for Growth Scheme, the Loddon Shire Council and the Mysia Hall Committee.
