    Rotary Club of Kilmore and Broadford. Flagpole 1921 -81 60th Anniversary. Memorial Flagpole with plaque, metal on bluestone base. The bluestone may be from the demolished Beveridge Roads Board Building.

    Kilmore War Memorial - Veterans Description for Public

    The Kilmore War Memorial is located on the corner of Hudson Park. The memorial, a stone obelisk, was erected in 1921 and in 1947 the RSL had their club rooms built nearby. A canon was also installed at the foot of the memorial and Cypress trees planted along Sydney Street. The obelisk stands in memory of the First World War and Second World War. A wall was added around the obelisk with plaques dedicated to conflicts in Korea, Malaya, Borneo, Vietnam and Peacekeeping missions.On 5 November 2010 two wooden statues wereunveiled on either side of the original memorial - one a soldier and one a nurse.

    Hudson Park occupies the site of the old Kilmore Hotel, demolished in April 1907. The land, purchased by James Moore, was known as Moore's Paddock or Moore's Park for many years before the council purchased the land in 1913. In March 1960, Cr. R.G. Hoban, Shire President, moved that the name of "Hudson" Park should be officially adopted for the site in recognition of Mr. G.L. Hudson's contribution to the town and the district.
