Mortlake Soldiers' Memorial Hall - Physical Description 1
The building has a bluestone core has 1960s foyer / toilets / kitchen added after original roof blew off. On east side a galvanised shed hides original steps and cast iron balustrade andlace. This was original Mechanics Institute Library and then the kitchen. The original timber timber dressing rooms have been reclad in fibro-cement. There is a plaque to Thomas Turner Shaw. Mortlake Soldiers' Memorial Hall - Veterans Description for Public
The Mortlake Soldiers' Memorial Hall was originally the town's Mechanic's Institute but was renamed in 1923 as the Soldiers Memorial Hall. The building has a bluestone core with 1960s foyer, toilets and kitchen which were added after the original roof blew off.
