Statement of Significance
Hehr's Pine Park Farm illustrates early German building practices the manner of which the resources of the new land were put to use and both the diary and horse breeding industries. The latter providing an essential product for farms throughout the district. It is historically significant on a regional level for all of these aspects and architectural significance on a state level for remarkable intactness and the structures are related to the activities of the dairy and horse breeding farms. HEHR'S PINE PARK FARM COMPLEX - History
THE GRANTEE OF THE LAND WAS E MILLER IN 1853. CHRISTIAN HEHR AND HIS WIFE DOROTHEA ARRIVED IN AUSTRALIA FROM WURTTENBERG, GERMANY IN 1856. IN 866, CHRISTIAN PURCHASED 76 ACRES AT WOLLERT AND ESTABLISHED THE DAIRY FARM, CONSTRUCTING THE HOMESTEAD AND DAIRY OVER THE NEXT 20 YEARS. CHRISTIAN DIED IN 1892, THE FARM PASSED TO SON JACOB AND WIFE MAGDALENA. TWO SONS OF JACOB - ERNIE AND HENRY BRED CLYDESDALES. AFTER ERNIE HEHR'S DEATH IN 1974, PINE PARK WAS PURCHASED BY A NEIGHBOUT MR A COTCHIN.HEHR'S PINE PARK FARM COMPLEX - Interpretation of Site
The milking shed/dairy relates to the late 19th century dairy farm on the property. The timber stalls, feeding boxes, bluestone flooring, drainage channels, and drystone wall pens relate to the 20th century Clydesdale stud and farm.

HEHR'S PINE PARK FARM COMPLEX - Heritage Inventory Description
An intact 19th century dairy farm includes homestead, milking shed and outbuildings as well as extensive drystone walls. The property was also a stud for Clydesdale horses.
The early phase of the buildings (c1866-1880) includes the bluestone homestead, dairy and milking shed. The later phase associated with horse breeding (early 20th century) includes timber stalls, feeding boxes, bluestone flooring with drainage channels and tall drystone walls forming pens.
