Statement of Significance

The site defines the location of one of the earliest and more permanent shallow alluvial workings on Bendigo beyond Bendigo Creek itself (criterion A) andmarks out the main line of alluvium which was worked northwards from Myer's Flat to Sebastian and beyond (criterion C).

      Myers Creek Alluvial Workings - Physical Description 1

      A band of shallow alluvial sinkings about 10 metres wide extending north-northwest across Leichardt Road for about one kilometre. The mounds of mullock are about one metre high.

      The area is bounded by Leichardt Road on the south, Myer's Creek on the east, Quinns Road West on the north and freehold property boundaries on the west.
