STATEMENT OF SIGNIFICANCE
The Leopold Cemetery which is situated north of the township, has designated denominational areas and pioneer family plots with ornate memorials and headstones dating form the 1850s. The Cemetery contains early tree plantations and old specimen trees some of which have commemorative significance.
The Leopold Cemetery has aesthetic, historic and social value to the Leopold district.
The Leopold Cemetery headstones are a valuable source of genealogical information and memorial structures indicate social standing and the craftsmanship of stonemasons in the area. The surviving plantings give integrity to the complete site.
It is of LOCAL cultural significance.

Leopold Cemetery - Physical Description 1
The Leopold Cemetery is located on a large block of land at a distance from the main urban area of Leopold. A wrought iron gate on the Kensington Street entrance has 'Leopold Cemetery' in the design. There are large trees dating from very early plantings, large pine trees along the fence lines, sheoaks in the cemetery grounds and several old specimen trees at the rear of the block. The oldest section of the cemetery is at the rear of the property and each denomination has a separate space allocation. There are pioneer family plots with ornate headstones and monuments.
