Statement of Significance
'Turinville' appears to retain fabric that dates from the 1840s and it was almost certainly designed by John Gill. The significance of the house stems from these factors and requires establishing after a detailed on-site analysis and dating of its fabric.

Turinville - Physical Description 1
As it stands, Turinville does not clearly display such an early date of construction and requires a close inspection internally and externally to verify what parts of the house date from the l840s. It is a single storeyed house, the front facade dominated by a cast iron decorated verandah that appears to have been added in about the 1870s. The verandah spans the front facade and wraps around a polygonal bay unit that would also appear to be a later addition. The extant area of garden includes some old trees including Ficus sp.
