ST PATRICK'S CATHOLIC CHURCH - Physical Description 1
St Patrick's Catholic Church is a large reddish brick building in the Early English Gothic revival style. The nave is three bays long. There is a substantial porch, two transepts and a chancel. The windows are treated as double lights in all cases. Triangular ventilator openings, treated similarly to the windows, are in the main gables and the transept gables. Construction details are elaborated with the use of unpainted cement render for copings, hood moulds and the caps on butresses and with contrasting red bricks for the architraves of windows and as beds of header bricks in the main gable. The gables of the main roof and the gable of the chancel are surmounted by cement crosses. The roofs of the porch, nave, transepts and chancel are pitched at 60 degrees and are clad in corrugated iron.
