HOUSE (NYALLO) - Physical Description 1
A picturesque and distinguished Federation period timber villa adopting the common asymmetrical form with corner verandah terminated by projecting wings and having a dominant terra cotta tiled roof with tall chimneys with strapwork. It is the decoration that sets this house apart, the turned timber posts to the verandah supporting a rectilinear pattern frieze with graceful curved spandrels incorporating sunray motifs and terminated in fretted pendants recalling Art Noveaux forms. The half timbering surmounting the front window bay also uses Art Nouveaux patterns to striking effect, the shapes being reflected also in the terminations to the barges.
