HOUSE & SURGERY - Physical Description 1
Beyond the Queen Anne style, this reflects the symmetry, broad gabled roofs and massive construction of the Bungalow period, presumably architect designed. Sophisticated massing includes the set-back of the north-western corner around the two-level porch and the broad north-facing gable with its Swiss Chalet character. Red brick textured stucco and French pattern tiles are typical materials and the tapered chimney stacks are elegant accessories.
Attic/sleepout porch enclosed; fence replaced.
A major corner building with contrived elevations to at least three sides; although the adjoining 123 Wellington Street is much earlier and although it differs in form, it shares a wide frontage and similar set-backs. More near contemporary is the opposite corner shop at 135 Wellington Street which however, because of its use only relates in choice of materials.
